Elevate Your Baseball Game was created and is managed by me, Chip
Engdahl (The Big E of Big E Baseball). I am a former Division I pitcher
and professional prospect who played baseball for almost two decades
during my youth and early adult life. For the past decade or so I’ve
been involved in youth baseball as an instructor and coach within the
Plymouth Wayzata Youth Baseball Association (PWYBA) and have had
the privilege of coaching my sons at various levels within this program.

As a kid, playing the game was a tremendous thrill. I have countless
memories including those from having played on a state championship
team. More recently, with the help of a fantastic group of coaches,
I’ve had the privilege of coaching a AAA travel team that has won
two state championships and a runner-up finish in the state of Minnesota
during the last few years. The memories keep accumulating.

Over the past couple seasons my desire to infuse additional knowledge and
insight into the minds of the youth I coach has increased. There never
seems to be enough time during practices and games however to introduce
and reinforce everything effectively. In addition to the traditional
physical elements of hitting, throwing, catching, and running, my desire
to instruct on more of the mental game – including strategic
considerations, the nuances of pitching, situational baseball, emotional
considerations, positive attitude development, and more – has grown.

Elevate Your Baseball Game is meant to be a means through which the
mental, emotional, and intellectual elements within the game of baseball
can be further explored and conveyed to players. My intent is to gear
Elevate Your Baseball Game towards youth players aged 10 to 17.

Baseball is a rich and wonderful game. There is no other game like it.
I created Elevate Your Baseball Game as a way to help the players I
coach take their game to another level. I hope they and others find
it useful.
